Last year, you were there for me during a personal crisis.
The problem was not of my own creation, but it hit me head on.
I was floundering.
You spoke slowly and deliberately.
You told me about my rights.
You helped me steer my way out of the mess.
You helped me regain control.
You kept checking in.
Today, you told me you’re about to make a move that I know will certainly be the hardest thing you’ll ever do.
You can’t avoid it, because it’s getting worse.
Other people have noticed.
You have to tackle the problem head on.
You have a lot of work to do.
Lucky for you, I’ve already been through it.
And I haven’t forgotten last year, when you were there for me.
So this year, I’m here.
To serve you tea and cookies or a double shot of vodka, if that’s what you need.
This friendship thing… it’s kind of wonderful.
I’m glad I could share it with you.
